Meet the Pedal Posse: Margaret Ward, aka Happy Wheels
Margaret Ward is always moving - and helping others move more! We caught up with her to learn more about the newest Pedal Posse instructor:
What excites you about the Pedal Posse?
I'm excited to meet my fellow riders and develop a sense of community and support among the group.
How has exercise impacted your own life?
I've always prioritized staying active either through yoga, walking, and doing weights. I started riding the Peloton 2 years ago and I love the way a bike provides a completely different workout and it has become a consistent part of my exercise routine.
How did you become interested in working with people living with Parkinson's?
I have been an occupational therapist for 26 years and have had the pleasure working with many patients with Parkinson’s.
What would you tell someone who’s nervous about trying spin for the first time?
Just go at your own pace and with each session you will become stronger and more confident.
What do you hope participants will feel when they leave your class?
Stronger, confident, and motivated to continue to stay active.
How did you choose Happy Wheels as your spin name?
I am a strong believer that exercise contributes in a positive way to your mental health as much as your physical health.
