Leaving a Legacy
Jan Brown wanted her doctor to call her back. When the neurologist she’d been seeing for tremors didn’t return her call after she had a stroke, she began searching for a new provider, and fate led her to Dr. Sanjay Iyer.
“We just clicked immediately. He’s special. He deeply cares about his patients, and the time and attention model is remarkable. I know I’m lucky, my issues managing tremors are inconvenient but not disabling, and Dr. Iyer helps me keep them under control. But there are patients at MMC who are living with so much more. I feel that an organization like MMC is critical – so many families need this kind of support, but it takes money. I’m in a position to help, so why wouldn’t I?”
Jan began thinking about what she could do to help ensure MMC would be here for generations to come. “I decided to include MMC in my will and trust. It was very easy to do – I made a simple phone call to my attorney to give him the name, address and MMC’s EIN number, and it was done. It really couldn’t be easier and it feels good to know I can make a lasting impact.”
