This holiday season, consider giving in honor of someone you love!

Blake and Ashley Graeber were delighted to discover a story about their friend Robert McMillan in last spring’s Impact Report.

“We’ve known Robert for years,” Blake said. “Reading about his success with the levodopa pump reminded us of the expert care he’s receiving. We wanted to honor him by supporting MMC.”

They made a donation, and MMC notified Robert of the tribute. It was thoughtful, personal, and impactful.

Ashley sees tribute gifts as a way to recognize friends who’ve been touched by MMC’s work – and to raise aware­ness among others. “Some recipients may not know about MMC,” she said. “This is a way to introduce friends to an organization that’s helped so many people we love.”

Blake believes a gift in honor is a meaningful alternative to traditional giv­ing. “It’s a way to celebrate someone’s values while offering a more lasting and impactful gift than a physical item – plus, I can avoid shopping and it’s tax-deductible!”

The couple has long made gifts in memory, but only recently began giving in honor. “It’s also a form of encouragement,” Ashley said. “Many of our friends are living with a memo­ry or movement disorder or caring for someone who is. A gift in their honor lets them know we see them, and we understand what they’re going through.”
