Celebrating Robyn’s Next Chapter

After twelve years of extraordinary service, Robyn Wolkofsky is leaving MMC to join the founding team of Elon University’s new Physician Assistant program in Charlotte. This opportunity is a perfect fit for someone who is a natural builder. Robyn was our very first PA and second provider, joining Dr. Edwards in the earliest days of what was then Memory Center Charlotte. Since then, she has helped shape nearly every aspect of our practice—from co-creating the Take Charge! program to defining the PA role and ensuring patients and caregivers receive the support they need.

"Being a part of MMC has been the joy of my professional life. The privilege of walking alongside our courageous patients and caregivers is something I will always hold close to my heart. I have learned so much from each of you. And you'll be seeing me again - I plan to keep in touch!"

Robyn’s impact is immeasurable. Her blend of clinical excellence, vision, and warmth has touched every corner of MMC. While we will deeply miss her daily presence, we are proud that her work here has led to this exciting new opportunity. Through her teaching, Robyn will influence the next generation of PAs, instilling in them the values of compassionate care and caregiver support that are central to our mission.

Once settled in her new role, Robyn hopes to return to MMC in a limited capacity, enriching her teaching with real-time clinical experience.

Welcoming William: A Provider Who Shares Our Values

As we say goodbye to Robyn, we are thrilled to welcome William Boehringer, a seasoned PA with a deep commitment to patient-centered care. William brings over a decade of experience in emergency medicine and neurology, and a personal connection to memory care that began when he helped care for his grandfather with Alzheimer’s.

Originally from Buffalo, William grew up in Florida and moved to North Carolina in 2004. He and his wife, a nurse anesthetist, have made Charlotte their home. William’s journey into medicine was shaped by early caregiving experiences and a lifelong desire to help others. He’s worked in fast-paced hospital settings but sought out MMC because of our more deliberate and thoughtful approach to care.

“I’ve done the fast pace, and patients simply need more than that allows,” he says. “I treat patients the way I treat my own family, and MMC supports that model.”

William is thoughtful, humble, and deeply committed to listening. He believes in shared decision-making and never letting ego get in the way of good care. “We are a team,” he says. “The patient is in charge—I give my best recommendation, but the decision is not mine alone.”

Outside work, William enjoys reading, cooking with his wife, tinkering with classic cars, and spending time with his extended family and beloved dogs.

We are confident that patients will find in William a provider who listens deeply, cares genuinely, and honors the humanity of every person he meets.
